Ligue 1 Bitcoin Betting: 35th Ligue 1 Matchweek Preview

Join us as we continue analyzing one of the most interesting Ligue 1 seasons in history. Usually, PSG have things wrapped up by the 35 round; however, things are different this time around. With four rounds to go, we have four teams challenging for the title. Lille still hold a one point advantage after their amazing win against Lyon in the last round. They were down 2:0 at one point in the game yet managed to come back and win. The result puts pressure on PSG because the fixture against Lyon was arguably Lille’s last tough fixture. On the other hand, PSG have to think about their performances in the UCL as they suffered defeat in the first leg of the semi-finals. On top of that, Monaco continue playing great and are waiting for someone to slip up. If PSG and Lille drop any points, Monaco can become champions.

With things as close as they are, Bitcoin Betting will be extremely popular in Ligue 1 for the remainder of the season. Below, we will cover three fixtures that could impact the table the most. First, we have PSG at home against Lens, a team that’s fighting for the last European spot. Marseille and Rennes are right on their tail so Lens have to do everything in their power to get a positive result against the holding champions. Next, we have the table leaders against Nice in a home fixture. Lille are favorites to win this game. Last but not least, we have a fantastic derby between Monaco and Lyon. It’s clear that whoever loses this fixture will be eliminated from the title race but a draw could eliminate both teams. For more information about Ligue 1 football, check their official website.

PSG vs Lens

PSG

Having to pick themselves up after a midweek Champions League defeat, three straight Ligue 1 (L1) wins – as part of a run of 16 league matches without a draw (W12, L4) – sees PSG sit just one point off top spot as they chase a joint-record tenth top-flight title in an exceptionally close four-way battle. However, recent poor defensive performances mean that they’ve conceded in their last six L1 matches, and a seventh game without a clean sheet would mark their longest such top-flight run since April 2012. The hosts have struggled at home of late, losing three of their last four top-flight matches here (W1) – the same amount as in their prior 46 (W39, D4) – and the fact they scored just once before the 75th minute during that run is concerning. Luckily for ‘Les Parisiens’, they face a side they have lost just once against in their last ten meetings.

Lens

A 13-game unbeaten run in the top-flight (W6, D7) has Lens challenging for European qualification, and a 14th match without defeat would mark their longest such streak since 2005/06 – a season that they qualified for Europe. Scoring first has certainly aided them along the way, as they’ve lost just one of 20 league games when netting the opener (W14, D5, L1). The visitors will be hoping to extend their current eight-game unbeaten league run on the road (W4, D4) – the longest run for a newly-promoted side in the top-flight since Le Havre in 1991/92! To continue that streak and pile pain on title-chasing PSG, starting well will be a priority, as Lens remain unbeaten when leading at HT away this season (W7, D1). Lens can’t lose here if they hope to play in Europe next season.

Prediction

Quality wise, PSG are absolute favorites to win this fixture. However, they will be forced to rotate their squad as their UCL dream is hanging by a thread. After losing the first leg even though they were playing at home, PSG will need their best players well prepared and rested for their travel to Manchester. Nevertheless, with Lille leading the table, PSG have to get all three points here even though Lens will make it hard for them. They are fighting for the last UEL spot and if they lose to PSG, their fight could be over. For that reason, we are backing an Over 2.75 Goals outcome @ 1.62 odds.

Lille vs Nice

Lille

As they did exactly a decade ago, Lille sit proudly atop the Ligue 1 (L1) table after 34 matchdays. Winning every remaining game guarantees the title, but there is a slither of doubt, with ‘Les Dogues’ winning only 53.33% of their league games this campaign when topping the table (W8, D6, L1), in comparison to 68,42% when not (W13, D4, L2). The pressures of leading are further reflected in Lille’s return of just one win from their previous five top-flight home matches (W1, D3, L1), although the fact that they have not conceded after the break across their last ten is encouraging. Subsequently, ‘Les Dogues’ are still unbeaten after registering a HT draw at home this L1 season (W3, D3). Lille are on a good way to become champions but they will need to win all remaining games for that to happen.

Nice

A return of just one loss across Nice’s previous eight league outings has put them on course for a top-half finish. Impressively, ‘Les Aiglons’ have lost just one of their previous 16 L1 H2Hs vs Lille (W7, D8, L1), but a good start still remains a priority, as Nice have lost every fixture (of 11) in which they’ve trailed at HT this campaign. A strong sense of post-HT superiority has been Nice’s main strength as travelers so far, with ‘Les Aiglons’ losing just three second halves on the road to date (2H: W6, D8, L3). Low-scoring first halves are also a theme though, as just two of their L1 road trips have witnessed both sides score before HT. Nice, had a very bad start to the season but have improved a lot since then. Lille will have a hard time against them as their last two meetings were draws.

Prediction

Home turf advantage has always played a great part in meetings between these sides. On top of that, Nice have done a much better job against Lille in recent years. Lille have won only one of their last ten meetings against Nice in all competitions. The win happened last season when Lille were the home side. Their fans will expect a strong performance, especially after their comeback against Lyon. If all goes right, Lille should be able to keep all three points at home but it will be far from easy. With that being said, we are backing a Home Side Victory & Over 2.5 Goals outcome @ 2.06 odds.

Monaco vs Lyon

Monaco

This one’s set to be a cracker between third and fourth in the table, and it’ll be a clash that title-chasing Monaco will relish after a remarkable campaign that has seen them accumulate 38 points more than what they had at this stage of the 2018/19 campaign! Their most impressive asset across recent months has been a defense which has been breached just once across their previous nine L1 fixtures (W7, D1, L1) – that’s six fewer than any other side in that time. Although sturdy in defense, you can’t sleep on ‘Les Monégasques’ in attack either. They’ve scored 2+ goals in eight of their previous nine L1 home encounters, and unsurprisingly avoided defeat in each (W6, D3). They’ve also netted all of their previous eight home goals after HT, contributing to a very high 71.79% of their L1 home efforts arriving during the second period.

Lyon

Lyon know this is a huge opportunity to close the gap on their hosts, and they’ll be hoping their remarkable away form might be a deciding factor. They’ve gone 15 L1 away games without a loss (W9, D6) – their longest such run since April 2016! One thing to look out for from the visitors is early goals as they’ve netted at least one before the 30th minute in five of their last seven away trips. ‘Les Gones’ have just about edged the recent H2H clashes in Monaco, winning in three of their previous five competitive visits (L2). All three victories followed the same intriguing trend – a HT lead and exactly three Lyon goals scored on the day. After losing in the last round, Lyon need to find a way to get a positive result here. However, Monaco are in excellent form so winning against them will be hard.

Prediction

Arguably, Lyon have a stronger squad than Monaco; however, performance wise, things are quite the opposite. Monaco are on a fantastic run of results that has turned them into a title contender. To win the title, they will need other results to go in their favor but first, they must defeat Lyon. The first time they met this season, Lyon secured a strong victory. However, when they met in the Cup recently, Monaco were better and won the game. With home turf on their side, Monaco have an advantage here. With that being said, we are backing a Both Teams to Score outcome @ 1.53 odds.
