La Liga has been a two horse race for quite some time with Atletico managing to win just one title over the last ten years. However, this season both Barcelona and Madrid were struggling, which game Atletico a fantastic opportunity. At one point in the season, they had a thirteen point lead over Barcelona and Madrid yet things are about to take an unexpected turn. In the last round, Atletico lost to Sevilla allowing Barcelona to come within one point. Their city rivals are close as well, just three points below them. Atletico are currently in awful form and if they don’t snap out of it, their title shot will be gone. They have dropped seven points over the last five rounds and haven’t looked worse in months. If they don’t prepare properly for the next round, we might have a new leader before the 31st round starts.
The 30th La Liga matchweek will be the most exciting one this season. The reason is simple, it comes with the most popular fixture in La Liga, the El Clasico. We expect Bitcoin Betting to go through the roof for this fixture as well as all the others in the next round. We will review the three fixtures that could impact the table the most. First, El Clasico, a fixture that could make or break the season for both Barcelona and Real Madrid. Next, Betis host Atletico Madrid on Sunday night. If Atletico fail to win here, there just might be a new table leader at the end of the round. Lastly, we have Sevilla in an away fixture against Celta Vigo. If they keep winning, Sevilla might join the title race as well. For more information about La Liga, check their official website.

Real Madrid vs Barcelona
Regarded by many as the world’s biggest derby, this ‘El Clásico’ could also have monumental consequences at the end of the season, as a win for either side could be the catalyst for La Liga (LL) glory. It’s hosts Real Madrid who hold the top-flight H2H edge in this iconic fixture (W74, D35, L72) after winning the previous two meetings, and considering another victory will take them joint-top of the table – at least for 24 hours – this derby could be one of the most significant in recent years. The last time Madrid graced top spot was back on matchday eight, but confidence should be high considering their current seven-game unbeaten home run (W6, D1), which includes winning the last three at HT/FT. An average of 2.03 goals scored per top-flight home H2H – compared to 1.22 conceded – is encouraging too.
Only one team is enjoying better ten-game LL form than Madrid, and that’s fierce rivals Barcelona (W9, D1), who’s average of 2.90 goals scored per fixture during that period eclipses all other teams. That’s taken second-placed Barça to just one point off top spot, and has them in sensational form as they seek revenge for a 3-1 defeat in the reverse fixture – the only time across the last ten derbies that Barça conceded over 2.5 goals. Enjoying an exceptional nine-game LL winning run on the road – in which they led at HT on eight occasions – Barcelona are creeping closer to their club record streak of 12 LL away wins. Furthermore, after scoring during both halves in their previous three LL away outings, confidence should be sky high. Barcelona could go top of the league if they win here and Atletico fails to defeat Betis.
As always, this is one fixture that’s impossible to predict. In the reverse fixture earlier this season, Barcelona looked like they have the upper hand yet they lost the game. This time both teams are in great form and under pressure to win the Clasico. A win for either side will mean a giant leap towards the title, regardless of what Atletico do in their game. Nevertheless, backing any side to win is extremely risky and carries no value. For that reason, we are backing an Over 2.75 Goals outcome @ 1.71 odds.
Real Madrid vs Barcelona
Real Betis vs Atletico Madrid
Locked in a three-way battle for just two top-six spots, Real Betis ended Easter level on points with their two main rivals (RSO & VIL) in that particular race. Yet, with a 20-point deficit to upcoming opponents Atlético Madrid, Betis are obvious underdogs, and began Friday as one of just four La Liga (LL) teams with a league loss rate of over 60% in that role (66.67%). For the benefit of optimistic Betis fans, the hosts can record four straight LL home wins for the first time since Mar/Apr 2018. Any shock result here may come via a late strike, with Betis averaging 1.75 goals beyond the hour mark across their last four LL home wins. Betis are in excellent form at the moment and they are fighting for a TOP 6 spot. This is probably the perfect time to host an Atletico side that’s struggling to win points right now.
Atlético Madrid’s vast league lead is but a memory, with a 1-0 defeat to Sevilla at Easter marking their eighth LL match in ten producing a margin of under 1.5 goals. The Rojiblancos’ preceding run of four straight top-flight games standing level at HT (including three goalless first halves) further heightens the tension. Regardless, the visitors have still avoided defeat in every away league match in which they’ve scored first this calendar year (W4, D0), leading by precisely a one-goal margin at HT in three of those matches. Curiously, they conceded ‘Goal 2’ in three of that quartet, but replied with the third match goal within ten minutes each time. Atletico need to bounce back after that game against Sevilla or their title bid will be pretty much over. With the way Real and Barcelona are playing, Atletico can’t afford to drop any points.
If this was earlier in the season, Atletico would have been considered strong favorites. However, things have changed and now Betis are the ones who are in better form. They also have the home turf advantage which means Betis are capable of getting a positive result against Atletico. Their defense hasn’t been stellar so Atletico will probably score but Betis are bound to score as well. We won’t back them to win this fixture because Atletico are still the best team in the league but we won’t back Betis to lose as well. With that being said, we are backing a Both Teams to Score outcome @ 1.99 odds.
Real Betis vs Atletico Madrid
Celta Vigo vs Sevilla
Only a convincing home victory here can keep even the most optimistic of Celta Vigo fans’ faint top-six dreams alive. Inconsistency is Celta’s overriding theme at present, with each of their last eight La Liga (LL) games producing a result different to the one before (W3, D3, L2), and they seek back-to-back league wins for the first time since December. The hosts’ recent home form (W1, D3, L2) hardly inspires confidence either, and that return is further exacerbated by Celta’s standing as one of just two sides with a 100% losing record as home league outsiders (L5). A poor disciplinary record, as reflected by 3+ yellow cards in ten of their last 11 league matches played anywhere, also promises further frustration here. Celta have improved drastically since the last time they played Sevilla. With home turf on their side, this will be a much different game.
Richly confident after a 1-0 Easter win vs Atlético Madrid, Sevilla are enjoying their joint-best season at this stage across the last ten campaigns. Defensively astute, Sevilla have conceded just once across the last 374 minutes of league play (W3, D1), and boasted the joint-best clean sheet protection rate in LL at the end of the last round (48.28%). Solidity often comes at the cost of entertainment though, and eight of Sevilla’s last ten LL away games have produced under 2.5 total goals (W6, D2, L2). Interestingly though, Sevilla have scored more away league goals between 76’-FT (seven) than in the first half (six) and as such, four of their seven road victories to date came following a drawn first half. Sevilla are in excellent form and are just eight points off the top. If they keep winning, Sevilla can join the title race.
Both teams are playing good right now which means this fixture could go either way. Celta have home turf advantage but Sevilla are the ones trying to ensure their place in the TOP 4 or maybe manage something even more impressive. Since 2016, Celta have won all home games against Sevilla; however, the Andalusians are playing much better right now and we have to consider them favorites here. They beat Celta in the reverse fixture earlier in the season and will probably do it once again. For that reason, we are backing an Away Side Victory @ 2.19 odds.
