After the last Bundesliga round, things are becoming more clear on who is going to win the title. In a direct title match against Leipzig, the Bavarians secured a hard-fought 0:1 victory. With that result, Bayern now have a seven point advantage and will most likely be Bundesliga champions again. On the other hand, Wolfsburg continued their winning run and are now just three points below 2nd placed Leipzig. Additionally, Eintracht Frankfurt are showing that they will fight for a TOP 4 finish with everything they have. They beat Dortmund in the last round and now have a seven point advantage over them. It might be unexpected but Dortmund will now need to win all games and also hope that other results go their way if they hope to play in the UCL next season. Not to mention that Leverkusen are also trying to reach the TOP 4.
The title race might be over but there are still a lot of things to be decided in this Bundesliga season. We expect Bitcoin Betting to continue with it’s popularity until the end of the season. Below, we will review the three fixtures of the 28th round that could impact the table standings the most. First, we have Eintracht hosting Wolfsburg in a fixture where both teams could lose a lot. Dortmund and Leverkusen will be hoping that this fixture ends in a draw. Next, we have Leipzig in an away fixture against Werder. The Red Bull side needs to get back to winning ways as soon as possible. Lastly, Dortmund are also playing away from home against an excellent Stuttgart side. Dortmund can’t drop any points until the end of the season. For more information about the Bundesliga, check their official website.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Wolfsburg
A win at fifth-placed Dortmund strengthened Eintracht Frankfurt’s grip on a Champions League place as they hunt their first participation in Europe’s premier competition since a 7-3 loss to Real Madrid in the famous 1959/60 final. Subsequently on course for their highest top-flight finish since the early 1990s, a league-high 85.19% of Frankfurt’s Bundesliga games this season saw both sides score, while much of their success has been built on strong first halves (HT: W16, D8, L3). One of three sides yet to lose at home in the league (W7, D6), a pre-Christmas plague of draws at Deutsche Bank Park has been cured since the turn of the year, with no side claiming more home points in 2021 than Frankfurt (W6, D1). Conceding first in three of those seven games, it would be unwise to ever discount the ‘Eagles’.
Perched one place above Frankfurt, Wolfsburg have their sights set on a second runners-up spot since winning the Bundesliga in 2008/09, with the title most probably out of reach. A timely run of three straight wins now means that 13 of their last 15 competitive matches to find a victor saw just one side score. Despite being outsiders in this game, a tag that has produced just one away league win for Wolfsburg all season (W1, D2, L2), the ‘Wolves’ have won each of their last four trips here and also won the reverse H2H. Just one away Bundesliga success in their first eight trips this season has been countered by one defeat in their last seven (W5, D1), with five of their six overall away wins coming ‘to nil’. Wolfsburg won the reverse fixture earlier in the season and they will try to do the same on Saturday.
Quality wise, both teams are pretty much equal which means the advantage has to go to the home team. Eintracht are in good form and they come to this match on the back of a win against Dortmund. In the reverse fixture earlier this season, Wolfsburg took all three points in a very close fixture that finished 2:1. This time Eintracht are playing at home and even though it will be a tough fixture, Frankfurt might emerge victorious. Nevertheless, backing any side to win is extremely dangerous. For that reason, we are backing an Over 2.75 Goals outcome @ 1.96 odds.
Eintracht Frankfurt vs Wolfsburg
Werder Bremen vs RB Leipzig
The hosts have registered a three-game Bundesliga losing streak at the wrong time and are in danger of being dragged into the relegation fight, and with it, potentially end their run of 40 successive seasons in Germany’s top tier. With two of those recent defeats witnessing Bremen trail at HT – as they’ve done in eight of 11 league losses this campaign – starting well here against high-flying RB Leipzig is a must. A positive result is needed if Bremen are to maintain the gap between themselves and the bottom three, but just five points from the last 15 available at home (W1, D2, L2) and an average of only one goal scored per league game here, aren’t morale boosting stats. Werder are having a better season than the last one but they are still dangerously close to the relegation zone. Losing against Leipzig could create a lot of problems for them.
Leipzig had the chance to go within one point of top-placed Bayern in the last round, but a 1-0 defeat means they now sit seven points behind the league leaders. That has left their title dreams in tatters as no side has ever overturned a 7+ point gap at the Bundesliga’s top at this late stage of a season. Still, four consecutive top-flight wins ‘to nil’ on the road – three of which saw Leipzig lead 1-0 at HT and win 3-0 at FT – has them traveling here as comfortable favorites. That run has positioned the visitors as the division’s second best away side (W7, D4, L2), and forms part of an impressive nine-game away streak in the league in which Leipzig have scored first. However they’ve scored the opener in just one of four previous H2Hs at Bremen (W1, D1, L2). Leipzig need to return to winning ways immediately.
Based on form and squad quality, Leipzig are absolute favorites to win this fixture. Werder are one loss away from being a relegation candidate so they will try their best to get some points here. However, it’s highly unlikely that they can trouble a Leipzig side that’s been fighting to win a title for most of the season. It won’t be easy but the Red Bull side should be able to take all three points. With that being said, we are backing an Away Side Victory @ 1.50 odds.
Werder Bremen vs RB Leipzig
Stuttgart vs Borussia Dortmund
The hosts have dreams of European football next season, and with the 1989 UEFA Cup finalists sitting just four points off the top six, a repeat of their thumping 5-1 reverse fixture win over Borussia Dortmund would put them a big step closer to making those dreams a reality. However whilst outsiders here, a 66.67% unbeaten rate as a Bundesliga underdog this term (W3, D5, L4) will make Stuttgart difficult opponents. As will a six-game unbeaten top-flight home run (W4, D2) which saw Stuttgart net the opener five times. That puts the hosts in with a real shot of achieving their first league double over Dortmund since 2004/05, although after conceding during both halves in six of the last seven competitive H2Hs held here, questions remain whether Stuttgart can really hold off the attacking flair of Dortmund yet again.
Dortmund’s 2-1 defeat at Manchester City in midweek wasn’t a surprise, but just one win from their previous six matches is poor form (W1, D2, L3), and Champions League football next season is beginning to look unlikely for the fifth-placed visitors. With the worst Bundesliga loss-rate (37.04%) of any top-half team going into this round, there’s no guarantees here, although if Dortmund do prove the odds correct then expect a strong second half – nine of their 13 Bundelsiga victories this season featured a first-half draw. However, four defeats from their previous six Bundesliga away games (W1, D1, L4) spells trouble, especially as Dortmund led at some point in four of those six games, and scored the opener within five minutes in the previous two (D1, L1).
Dortmund are favorites here simply because they are Dortmund and were expected to challenge Bayern for the title before the season started. However, things are not looking good for them as they can’t even get to the TOP 4. Their latest loss in the previous round means that Dortmund are now seven points below the TOP 4 with just seven rounds to go. This is a fixture that Dortmund absolutely have to win. In the reverse fixture, earlier this season, Stuttgart scored five goals past Dortmund. Come Saturday, they will be looking for revenge but Stuttgart are a team that’s extremely tough to beat. We believe that backing Dortmund to win doesn’t offer enough value for the risk it comes with. For that reason, we are backing a Both Teams to Score outcome @ 1.52 odds.
