Bundesliga Bitcoin Betting: 27th Bundesliga Matchweek Preview

The International break is over and now Bundesliga teams can return to the title race. In the last round, the holding champions continued their winning run and are now four points ahead on the top of the table. After the draw against Frankfurt, the Red Bull side returned to winning ways in the last round. However, they are still four points behind the Bavarians and need to keep winning to challenge for the title. The third spot is held by Wolfsburg at the moment as their good performances continue. If they continue playing this way, we will see Wolfsburg in the Champions League next season. Lastly, we have to mention Dortmund who are still struggling to get to the TOP 4. Right now Eintracht Frankfurt are in their way as they have a four points advantage over them. Dortmund need to win every game until the end of the season.

Bundesliga Predictions & Bitcoin Betting Tips

Borussia Dortmund vs Eintracht Frankfurt

Dortmund

With nine of the last ten H2Hs witnessing both teams score, and these two teams possessing almost identical goals scored (DOR: 2.08 vs 2.04) and conceded (1.42 vs 1.38) averages this Bundesliga season, expect a back and forth affair in a clash between two teams vying for the last Champions League spot. Sitting four points behind fourth-placed Eintracht Frankfurt, it’s surely Borussia Dortmund that must take the initiative here and try to take control of this match. However any move appears likely to happen after HT, as five of Dortmund’s seven Bundesliga home wins this season (W7, D2, L3) witnessed a level first half – albeit they have led at HT/FT in four straight H2H home games. Dortmund need to win this game or their chances of a TOP 4 finish will decrease drastically.

Eintracht

The hosts have also scored the opener in five straight competitive home matches, which doesn’t bode well for visiting Frankfurt who are seeking their first win – and points – at Dortmund in over a decade. However with a league-high 84.62% of their Bundesliga fixtures this season witnessing both teams score, and six match goals before HT in their last outing, it’s likely Frankfurt will foster an entertaining game no matter the result. Yet whilst Frankfurt have seen both teams score in their last six competitive away games, don’t be fooled by their tendency to concede – only Bayern Munich have picked up more points (home/away) than Frankfurt’s 30 this calendar year. Frankfurt are currently holding on to the 4th spot on the table but to remain there, they need a positive result against Dortmund over the weekend.

Prediction

Dortmund have a slight advantage in this one as they have more quality and are also playing at home. What football fans will be hoping for is a fantastic game in which the better team wins. The reverse fixture earlier this season finished 1:1 but both teams were in awful form back then. Things have changed since then and we expect a high-scoring affair come Saturday. Both teams need a win here which means we should be getting a great match. With that being said, we are backing an Over 2.75 Goals outcome @ 1.61 odds.

Borussia Dortmund vs Eintracht Frankfurt

Wolfsburg vs FC Koln

Wolfsburg

Heading into the final eight rounds, Wolfsburg look nailed on to retain their top-four placing given their rock-solid ten-game Bundesliga form (W8, D1, L1). In fact no side has picked up more points, or conceded fewer goals, than Wolfsburg across the last ten rounds, whilst they also won at both HT/FT in seven of the last nine. Oliver Glasner’s Wolfsburg are one of just three sides yet to be beaten at home this Bundesliga campaign (W8, D4), and currently defend a 486-minute run of competitive home play without conceding. That, coupled with scoring 2+ goals in eight of their last ten Bundesliga home games, shows why they’re comfortable favorites here. Wolfsburg are having a great season and if they continue this way, they will be part of the Champions League next season.

Koln

Cologne are embroiled in a relegation battle following a run of six straight winless league games (D2, L4). However a result here isn’t completely out of the question, as the ‘Billy Goats’ equalized and held on to a 2-2 draw last time out vs Dortmund, although they may need two goals again as they’ve registered a joint league-low three clean sheets (11.54%). Interestingly, Cologne have picked up the lion’s share of their paltry points haul away from home (65.22%), although four of their six away defeats did come across the last five rounds (W1). In reality, this is likely a case of damage control as Cologne possess a mere 27.27% win-rate as away league outsiders (W3, D2, L6), whilst four of those six defeats witnessed a 2+ goal margin. Koln are fighting relegation which means they will try to get a positive result here.

Prediction

Based on quality and home turf advantage, Wolfsburg are strong favorites to win this fixture. However, a team that is trying to avoid relegation is always dangerous and Koln have already proven that several times this season. In the reverse fixture earlier this season, Koln held Wolfsburg to a 2:2 draw. Last season they defeated Wolfsburg in the home fixture and Wolfsburg now have the perfect opportunity to get revenge. Their form has been excellent in recent weeks and we believe they should be able to win this game. With that being said, we are backing a Home Side Victory @ 1.54 odds.

Wolfsburg vs FC Koln

RB Leipzig vs Bayern Munich

Leipzig

Ahead of this crucial Bundesliga title six-pointer, second-placed RB Leipzig trail Bayern Munich by just four points. In reality, a defeat will likely all but end their interest in a maiden top-flight title, but Leipzig are unbeaten in eight league matches (W7, D1), within which half of the last six victories saw them precisely lead 1-0 at HT. A draw would be dissatisfying for the hosts – but not disastrous – and notably, Leipzig have drawn all five of their Bundesliga matches entered as betting outsiders since the start of 2019/20. On that topic, each of their last three score draws in the Bundesliga have seen them net first and then concede Goal 2, while also shipping the last goal on two occasions. This is probably Leipzig’s final chance to catch up with the Bavarians. They have to win this fixture for that to happen.

Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich may be favorites, but star striker Robert Lewandowski’s injury is a major blow. That said, Bayern’s ten-game league form without Lewandowski bears no defeats (W8, D2). Five of the last seven wins therein saw Bayern win the second half by a two-goal margin. Without Lewandowski, Bayern will find it all the more difficult to recover after a poor start if necessary. On that note, the Reds’ FT league record from games trailed at HT since the start of 2019/20 reads: W1, D4, L4. However, their overall second-half goal difference this term against other teams that spent the March international break inside the top six is +9 (GF11, GA2). Bayern need to prepare for the UCL as well which means they might be forced to rotate some players on Saturday which would give Leipzig the perfect opportunity to strike.

Prediction

If this was last season, Bayern would have been absolute favorites to win this fixture. However, things are a bit different this time around. Their form is not as good as it was a couple of months ago and they also have several injuries to worry about. Their star striker Lewandowski won’t be playing against Leipzig which means the Red Bull side does have a chance of getting a positive result here. The last three meetings between these sides finished with a draw and the last one gave us six goals. Football fans across the world will be hoping for something similar to happen on Sunday. With that being said, we are backing a Both Teams to Score outcome @ 1.48 odds.
